In this invitation-only online event AFTRS lecturer Lyn Norfor (read bio here) spoke to Charlotte and Janice about their creative collaboration with this all-female creative team and their experience filming this eight episode US television production in New South Wales.

Janice is a Producer/Executive Producer of film and television. After being President of Production at Groundswell Productions from 2007-2018, Williams left to form her own company, Well Red, which currently has a first look deal with Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories.
Janice was nominated for an Emmy for HBO’s Confirmation and produced SMILF (Showtime, nominated for a Golden Globe), Queen America (Facebook Watch) starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Chance (Hulu), The Magicians (5 seasons on SyFy) and The Astronaut Wives Club (ABC).
Feature films include Trumbo, for which Bryan Cranston was Oscar and Golden Globe nominated, Birth of the Dragon, Love the Coopers, Farming, Milk (which garnered 8 Oscar nominations including 2 wins), Appaloosa, The Visitor, The Final Girls, Lola Versus, Very Good Girls and All Good Things.
Janice, born and raised in Glasgow, started her career in entertainment in the music industry. After 5 years managing record producers in London and Los Angeles, she began a seven-year association with Mick Jagger managing recording activities for his solo work as well as for the Rolling Stones. Williams began her career in film in 1996 working for Carnival Films and acclaimed British producer Brian Eastman.

Charlotte’s television work includes Homeland, House of Cards, and Fosse/Verdon (WGA Winner, Adapted Long Form). Her VR film Dinner Party premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and played at venues around the world. She worked in theatre for many years as a dramaturg and has written on politics and culture for the Village Voice, the LA Times, Variety, and NPR.
