Screen Queensland is the state government’s screen agency and since 2019 has operated a facility with two sound stages in the city of Brisbane. In early 2024, the network is expanding to tropical Far North Queensland with the opening of the Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns.

Screen Queensland Studios, Brisbane is located within a short drive from the international airport and in close proximity to diverse and accessible locations. It is well suited to low to mid-range budget feature films, television and subscription video-on-demand drama series.

The facility offers:

• 2 air-conditioned sound stages – both 32,291 sq ft (3,000 sq metres )
• 4 air-conditioned production offices, 2 warehouses and worksheds
• 200 parking spaces.

Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns is a fully air-conditioned facility, located within a short drive from the international airport servicing Far North Queensland and the famous beaches, rainforests, mountains, canefields, swamps and architecture of the region.

Operational from early 2024, the facility will offer:

• 1 sound stage – 11,517 sq ft (1,070 sq metres)
• Production offices, editing suites, sound recording studio, construction and wardrobe
• 88 parking spaces.
