As part of a global network of artists, animators, technologists and producers spanning four continents and eight locations, Framestore’s Melbourne studio forms a key piece of the company’s world-class creative offer.
A longstanding and respected part of Australia’s VFX and animation landscape, the Melbourne team have a passionate belief in their craft and have helped bring to life projects like Mad Max: Fury Road, Thunderbolts*, Deadpool & Wolverine, and the epic live action adaptation of How To Train Your Dragon.
With roots tracing back to Iloura, one of Australia’s most respected VFX houses, the studio later became Method before integrating into Framestore and rebranding in 2022. This evolution gives the Melbourne team a distinctive mix of local knowledge and international production expertise.
Specialising in high-end VFX and animation for feature films and episodic television, the team works closely with colleagues in London, Montreal and Mumbai. The studio is recognised for its strengths in creature creation, character animation, environments and FX, contributing to some of the industry’s most ambitious and technically demanding projects.
Other credits include Together, Furiosa, Elvis, and Mortal Kombat II. The team also delivered more than 2,400 and 1,572 VFX shots for Seth MacFarlane’s Ted television series one and two.
As a vital part of Framestore’s multi-Academy Award-winning global production strategy, the Melbourne studio remains focused on craft, collaboration and talent development, supporting filmmakers both locally and internationally.
