AUSTRALIA CHINA FILM INDUSTRY EXCHANGE 2019

Screen Australia and Ausfilm hosted their 9th annual Australia China Industry Exchange (ACFIE) program in Beijing, China.

This business development program for Screen Australia and Ausfilm members aims to connect Australian screen businesses and government screen agencies with Chinese screen executives and entertainment and media companies in China.

Held over four days in Beijing the program consisted of targeted meetings, visits to entertainment companies and a networking event with producers and executives from China’s film and television industry. The event was generously hosted by the Australian Ambassador and Australian Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.

This program provides opportunities for Australian businesses and the Australian government through Screen Australia, to discuss collaborations on future projects, official co-productions and post and VFX capabilities in Australia. Previous ACFIE events have led to successful partnerships on official China/Australia co-productions like At Last and The Whistleblower and visual effects on Director Yan Han’s sci-fi Animal World.

With a growing demand for content, China has established itself as a strong partner for the Australian screen industry which is reflected in the rising numbers of productions that either film in Australia or utilise Australia’s highly skilled picture post-production, sound and music production and visual effects businesses.
