The live-action/animated hybrid film, Peter Rabbit has hopped into cinemas around the world!

Pre-production began on Peter Rabbit in January 2016, with story reels, character and production design created and refined at Animal Logic in Sydney. The main live-action unit shoot ran from January to March of 2017 across various Sydney locations including Centennial Park, Camden, Bringelly, Thirlmere and Mortuary Station. From March to April 2017, the unit shoot moved to London where for the first time, Harrod’s opened its doors to a film production. The Plate Unit also travelled to the Lake District for aerial photography and additional plates to recreate the world where many of Beatrix Potter’s stories take place – Windermere.

Over 1700 crew worked on the film with a majority of crew being from Australia, a testament to the highly skilled creative and technical crafts available in the Australian film industry.

Post-production took approximately 12 months to complete at Sydney’s Animal Logic Studios, located in the Fox Studios Australia complex, running from January 2016 to January 2017, with additional VFX support provided by some of Australia’s most respected VFX houses included Rising Sun Pictures, Cutting Edge, Cumulus VFX and Slate VFX.

Enough hopping around, it’s time to share some celebratory snaps of some lucky Animal Logic crew at the US, UK and Australian premieres. Peter Rabbit is out in Australian Cinemas from March 22!
