These include Monarch: Legacy of Monsters S2, Anaconda, Spa Weekend, Bear Country, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, Voltron, Posthumous, Runner, The Tacoma Exorcism, Subversion, The Mark, White Buzz, The Golden Ticket and Dustfall.
Cinematic and home screens have also been filled with productions filmed on the Gold Coast, including recent releases of Black Snow S2, Dangerous Animals, Good Cop/Bad Cop, Nautilus, Rock Island Mysteries S3, Troppo S2, Spit and Eden along with upcoming films Mortal Kombat 2 and Runner.
Industry growth abuzz
The City’s new entity Invest Gold Coast continues to lead the charge on industry growth and is a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). The Gold Coast Film Commission partners with major conferences and awards including Gold Coast Film Festival followed closely by Screen Forever, Australian International Movie Convention and the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, and the careers expo at AACTAs.
A strong advocate for the industry, Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate again hosted the Mayor’s Screen Industry Networking Event with Ausfilm, Screen Queensland and Village Roadshow Studios to celebrate everyone’s great contribution from below the line crew to producers, directors and actors.
“We have been punching above our weight for more than 35 years to position the city as a place film makers want to come while also supporting and growing local skills to ensure depth of crew. With new projects and major industry businesses setting up house here, there will be more great announcements in 2026.”
