SOUTH AUSTRALIAN SCREEN NEWS ROUND UP

South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) gives insight into the latest screen news of South Australia.

The South Australian Film Corporation and Australian streamer Stan have partnered to launch a new matched development fund to boost the creation of new and original South Australian scripted series. The initiative will focus on the development of bold, distinctive ideas with complex characters set in unusual worlds or situations that merit high production values, resulting in scripted series of world-class scope and scale for broadcast on the Stan platform. Learn more about the Stan and SAFC Development fund here. 

South Australian-made and SAFC supported short film Last Meal has been announced as an official selection of the prestigious 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. Produced by South Australian producers Danielle Tinker, Marcus McKenzie and Daniel Principe and directed by McKenzie and Principe, Last Meal was funded through the joint Short Film Production Initiative between the SAFC, Adelaide Film Festival and Panavision, and investigates the morality of capital punishment through the final feasts of death row prisoners. The film, has been picked up for worldwide sales by New York-based sales agency and international distribution company Cargo Film & Releasing
