Since establishing its reputation as a Film Friendly City, Fremantle has welcomed several major projects including the feature film Twice Over starring Mia Wasikowska (Bergman Island, Club Zero, Alice in Wonderland) and Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things, The Souvenir Part II, The New Mutants, Industry), RUN produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia for the Foxtel Group in association with ITV Studios, and The Twelve S3 commissioned by Foxtel Group and produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia and Easy Tiger.

The BBC Studios Productions Australia series Reckless filmed across Fremantle throughout 2025, utilising locations including the famous Cappuccino Strip, Fremantle Buffalo Club, North Mole Lighthouse and the industrial façade of The Woolstores.

Cameras are now rolling across Western Australia with the Netflix series Breakers filming in the state’s southern region, and the Stan Original mystery-thriller Two Birds filming at the newly opened Perth Film Studios and on location in Kalgoorlie.

Reckless was supported by the Western Australian Government’s Production Attraction Incentive.
