KOJO KICKS OFF A VERY BUSY 2018

KOJO is currently in post and VFX on several projects for Australian and International filmmakers, whilst also making major investments in the expansion of two studios.

KOJO’S MELBOURNE STUDIO

KOJO recently moved into new premises in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond, the 800 square metre facility now offers long-form picture post and VFX to Victorian based filmmakers. The new facility includes editorial suites, DI theatre, data room, post-production producer facilities and room for 20 VFX artists.

The expansion coincides with the final design and planning stage for a major upgrade and expansion of KOJO’s Adelaide, South Australian studios. With construction set to commence in the second half of 2018, KOJO is looking to grow the studio with 15 more VFX artists desks as well as a new DI theatre and producing spaces.

Directed by Shawn Seet (Two Fists One Heart, The Code) and produced by Ambience Entertainment’s Michael Boughen and Matthew Street (Tomorrow, When the War Began) the project engaged KOJO to provide support for data, VFX management and creation, DI and delivery. The KOJO team worked closely with main VFX vendor  (and Ausfilm Member) Resin to bring this new version of an Australian classic to the screen.

Set in the harsh wilderness of Tasmania, the story follows a 21-year-old Irish female convict in 1825 who witnesses the brutal murder of her husband and baby by her soldier master and his regiment. Unable to find justice, she takes an Aboriginal male tracker with her to seek revenge on the men.

KOJO is delighted to host Jennifer Kent (The Babadook) back at the KOJO studio for her new film, with KOJO servicing all elements of the post pipeline – picture, sound, and VFX.
