DAN LAKE STRENGTHENS BUSINESS EXPANSION AT THE POST LOUNGE

The Post Lounge (TPL) is excited to announce the appointment of Dan Lake as Business Development Manager. Based out of Melbourne, Lake will oversee the growth of new business, with a particular focus on managing long-form investments, incentives, project development and business affairs.

Lake has worked as an entertainment executive and content producer across feature film and broadcast drama, factual and reality programming for over ten years and is thrilled to be joining such an established entertainment company.

“I have always been a huge fan of The Post Lounge’s reputation for being passionate about the projects that they are involved in and transforming that passion into high-quality work on screen,” he said.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Kurt and the entire TPL team to help build the future of such a rapidly developing company.”

During his time at Freshwater Pictures, Lake was co-producer of feature documentary The Frackman and award-winning Australia-Canada co-production Early Winter (Director, Michael Rowe), a dramatic feature film that won the Venice International Film Festival’s Venice Days Award.

Lake was then Senior Vice President – Development & Production at Screen Queensland from 2014 to 2017, playing an integral role in the agency’s landmark production and talent development initiatives with Stan, ABC and SBS in Australia, and CBS in the United States. More recently Lake has worked as a creative producer on three of Australia’s biggest television formats – I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, The Block and MasterChef.

According to TPL General Manager Kurt Royan, such experience and industry insight makes Lake perfect for the position.

“This year The Post Lounge celebrates 40 years of trading, and we couldn’t be more excited about our current trajectory and growth. We’re thrilled to have someone of Dan’s calibre on the team, not only to revitalise our existing business processes, but leading the development of new business incentives,” said Royan.

The appointment of Lake bolsters The Post Lounge’s impressive start to 2019.
Last month TPL announced its partnership with VFX studio Resin with the two companies currently undertaking their first joint project on a US television series being filmed on the Gold Coast. The Post Lounge currently has an open call for VFX artists of all disciplines and skill levels.
