CATO LOCATION SERVICES WINS SPA SERVICE AND FACILITIES BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

At this year’s 21st annual Screen Producers Australia (SPA) Awards, CATO Location Services was named Service and Facilities Business of the Year. The award was given in conjunction with Silver Trak Digital and announced on the final night of Screen Forever 37 on the Gold Coast. CATO is honoured to have been a member of SPA for the last six years.

CATO was presented with the award for their work on Limitless, the National Geographic series featuring Chris Hemsworth. Limitless was shot in Sydney last year and CATO provided everything, from traffic management, security and unit, to cleaning, COVID safety, COVID testing, and production vehicles.

CATO was involved in various productions that received recognition on the night, encompassing ten nominees and five award-winning projects. Notably, their contributions extended to the esteemed Drama Series Production of the Year, Heartbreak High. Despite the challenges posed by COVID restrictions, CATO successfully facilitated the filming of the Fremantle Australia series by deploying a dedicated unit team and navigating the constantly evolving landscape of lockdowns and limitations.

Another CATO collaborator, Easy Tiger Productions, took home Comedy Series Production of the Year for Colin From Accounts. Like Limitless, CATO provided multiple services on this project including traffic management and security, production vehicles and Honeywagons, swing driving, hero car driving, and the supply of COVID rapid antigen tests.

CATO provided traffic management services for the Short Film Production of the Year, Voice Activated. On Children’s Production of the Year, Barrumbi Kids, CATO provided a safety supervisor. And, for Reality Series Production of the Year, The Great Australian Bake Off, they provided security services.

In addition to these five award winners, CATO also collaborated on ten of the nominated productions. These included The PM’s Daughter, Frayed Season 2, Bump Season 2, The Twelve, Significant Others, Farmer Wants A Wife Season 12, Christmas Ransom, Barons, Here Out West, Sissy, and How To Please A Woman.

CATO is honoured to have worked on so many fabulous productions in 2022 and would like to congratulate all those nominated and the winners of this year’s SPA awards. As a service provider in the industry, Screen Forever and the SPA Awards are a perfect occasion to meet with producers and other clients face to face whom we might otherwise have not had the chance to. It’s great to be provided with the opportunity to see so many of our peers together in one room.

Prior to this year, CATO had also been nominated for Service and Facilities Business of the Year in 2021 and 2022.
