2022 HAS BEEN A HUGE YEAR FOR FRAMESTORE’S MELBOURNE STUDIO

Mid-year, the company most recently known as Method Studios Melbourne became part of the Framestore global family, heralding a new chapter ripe with opportunity, according to Head of VFX, Framestore Melbourne, Simon Rosenthal.

Team numbers have expanded by around 40% to accommodate the growing slate of work. 

Over the course of 2022, the team’s projects included Joseph Kosinski’s Spiderhead, Peter Farrelly’s The Greatest Beer Run, Sony Pictures Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile as well as work for local legends Baz Luhrmann on Elvis, and George Miller on Three Thousand Years of Longing. Continuing to deliver the film and episodic projects they have in-hand, the Melbourne team will align with the established Framestore pipeline as of January 2023. 

It has been a bumper year for awards, too, with work on ElvisCandymanShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten RingsMortal Kombat and The Tomorrow War being recognised with nominations and awards from the VES, the Australian Production Design Guild, the Asian Academy Awards and AACTA.
