Plastic Wax Animation Studio has announced its executive restructure as the company positions itself for long-term growth.
Plastic Wax has been punching above its weight in AAA Cinematic gaming trailers for over a decade. The Aussie animation studio is now set for significant changes, CEO Roger Maddams explains, “We have been the quiet achievers for a long time and this week’s announcement of restructuring our executive team at Plastic Wax is about positioning ourselves for long-term growth; producing more of our own IP and long-form content.”
With exciting new projects on the horizon and cutting-edge VR and CGI technologies, Plastic Wax is set to make the world sit up and take notice. Newly appointed General Manager Felix Crawshaw brings with him over 20 years of international and local film and television post-production experience. His production credits include Prometheus, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Captain America – The First Avenger, and The Finest Hours, “It’s an exciting time for Plastic Wax, so I feel privileged to be spearheading the growth of the business across our multiple platforms.”
Plastic Wax also appointed new Head of Production Peter Sved, who has worked on some of the worlds biggest gaming titles including, Assassins Creed, Call of Duty and Final Fantasy.
“2019 is without a doubt a game-changer year for us,” states Sved, “Not only have our recent projects been incredibly successful, we’re also hoping to make waves at E3 with work we’re finishing right now on some massive new IPs”.
It’s already been an exciting year for the studio, with two of their gaming titles winning two Gold and one Silver at the annual PromaxGames Awards held at The Village, San Francisco on 17 April 2019. Cindy Corson-Airey, VP of Business for Plastic Wax, attended the Awards. “The quality of the work presented at the awards was exemplary, so it’s a real honour to be lined up against the calibre of other contenders such as; Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Launch Trailer, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Trailers and Far Cry 5: Story & Story Trailer”, says Corson-Airey.
Plastic Wax has come out of the shadows and is looking to the future, Plastic Wax’s Creative Director Nathan Maddams states “As a shy kid, I immersed myself in the world of comics, art, gaming and film. Now, here I am with an amazingly passionate team, working alongside industry giants we grew up admiring. With our new leadership team and tech advancements, we’re looking forward to taking Plastic Wax to the next level”.
