Highly Spirited is the offspring of Oscar-winning production company Passion Pictures Australia. It focuses on creator-led projects including: the animated feature film based on Nathan Jurevicius’s acclaimed Scarygirl concept (worldwide theatrical release) with co-producers Like A Photon Creative, a high end TV series Tales From Outer Suburbia (in production) with co-production partners Flying Bark Productions based on Shaun Tan’s award winning children’s’ book of the same name, and a music driven kids TV series inspired by AFL star Eddie Bett’s best-selling picture books, Eddie’s Lil Homies (NITV, Netflix and SBS on Demand) with the ACTF distributing.
Highly Spirited has several feature film and TV shows in development including a feature adaptation of Shaun Tan’s awarded graphic novel The Arrival and the 2024 –2025 Australian Children’s Laureate Sally Rippin’s Polly & Buster book series.
